报告摘要:
Traditional transmission line wind design code specifications are based on large scale synoptic winds. That includes the effect of the lack of spatial correlation for wires but they usually omit resonant dynamic wind loads for both the wires and the towers. This talk will discuss the widely-used gust response factor method. It will also summarize the current Chinese code specifications on transmission line design in comparison.
High intensity winds including downdraft from thunderstorms and tornadoes have wind characteristics that is markedly different from the synoptic winds. For example, downdraft winds typically have higher spatial correlation and should be considered separately. The risk of a tornado blowing past a line segment as well as a single tower should also be considered.
